The final season of Game of Thrones is here, and everyone is wondering the same thing: Who will sit on the Iron Throne by the end? Will there even be an Iron Throne for someone to win at the end? The final six episodes will be all that’s left to give fans the answers they want. And just so it’s clear SPOILERS are ahead for everything that’s aired on Game of Thrones so far.
As things stand at the start of Season 8, Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) is on the Iron Throne, while the King of the North, Jon Snow (Kit Harington), has bent the knee—and his heart—to Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) to enlist her in the fight against the White Walkers. Many of the other main players, including Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright), and Samwell Tarly (John Bradley), are in Winterfell to fight with Jon and Dany against the dead.
For these power rankings, we’ll take the temperature of where things stand after each episode and see who is leading the way to “win” the Game of Thrones. Here’s our weekly Game of Thrones power rankings for the final season.
